We need just ONE MORE VOTE to save net neutrality in the Senate and
then take the fight to the House of Representatives.
We’re just one vote away from a Senate resolution to overturn the
FCC’s repeal of net neutrality.
One more vote to protect free speech on the Internet. One more vote to
stop site blocking, throttling, and new fees. ONE MORE VOTE TO GIVE AJIT
PAI THE WORST DAY OF HIS CORRUPT CAREER.
But getting that last vote won’t be easy. AT&T, Comcast, and
Verizon—some of the most powerful corporations in the world—have
sicced their army of lobbyists on the Senate and are pounding the Hill
with deceptive ads to pressure lawmakers into ignoring the public.
SO WE’RE ORGANIZING A MASSIVE OF DAY ACTION WITH MAJOR WEBSITES LIKE
ETSY, VIMEO, MEDIUM AND IMGUR THAT WE’RE CALLING "OPERATION:
#ONEMOREVOTE." It’s coming up on February 27, and between now and
then we need to raise enough money to make this one of our biggest days
of action ever.
WILL YOU CHIP IN TO HELP STAND UP TO BIG CABLE AND GET THAT ONE MORE
VOTE TO SAVE NET NEUTRALITY? [1]
We know there are several senators considering coming out on our side.
They’ve seen the polling numbers and they know that repealing net
neutrality will hurt their constituents.
But here’s the challenge: all the Democrats are already publicly
supporting the resolution. And politically, the Republican senator who
sticks their neck out to become that all-important 51st vote will get
viciously attacked by Big Cable and partisan supporters of the FCC.
So the strategy behind Operation: #OneMoreVote is to create a moment of
such large grassroots outcry that the senators who are already leaning
our way will feel the public backing, come forward, and take the heat.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE DOING TO MAKE OPERATION: ONE MORE VOTE A SUCCESS:
*
Building easy to use action alerts that can turn any website, blog, or
social media channel into a net neutrality protest beacon.
*
Organizing phone meetings en masse between small businesses that will be
affected by the FCC’s net neutrality repeal and Senate staffers in key
districts.
*
Mobilizing the entire Internet from startups to big websites like Vimeo
and Etsy to urge their millions of visitors to take action.
From the SOPA blackout to the Internet Slowdown, we've shown time and
time again that when the Internet comes together, we can stop censorship
and corruption. Now, we have to do it again! LET’S MAKE FEBRUARY 27 A
SUCCESS AND GET THAT ONE MORE VOTE!
